The Simpson Memorial Tennis Complex at Gordon Moore Park in Alton could get what some call a much-needed overhaul if the Alton City Council approves an agreement between the City and the Simpson Memorial Tennis Program tomorrow night. Members of the Alton City Council Committee of the Whole OK’d a resolution during last night’s meeting that would create a special account to be used by the City for that purpose.
Corporation Counselor Jim Schrempf says this was an idea brought forward by the citizens of Alton.

In other business, committee members approved the purchase of property known as 922 East 6th Street with Community Development Block grant funds at a cost not to exceed $5,000. The committee also voted to layover a resolution asking the City Council to consider a budget and appropriations ordinance dating from April 1, 2014 to March 2015. The approved resolutions will be presented to the City Council for approval tomorrow night.
