Fundraising for the local chapter of the United Way has begun, and one local industry continues to play a major role in the effort.  Phillips 66 has been a part of the annual Southwest Illinois Campaign for many years, encouraging employees to take part with withdrawals from their paychecks.

Phillips 66 Community Affairs Coordinator Keesha Dhaene says the company's legacy campaign keeps them heavily involved with the United Way almost year round:

This years goal for the local chapter serving Southwest Illinois is around $1.8 million, and the money raised here will serve dozens of organizations serving those in need of all ages.
