The United Way continues to collect items for Christmas.   The annual Community Christmas collection drive is underway with 100 boxes placed at businesses and churches throughout the Riverbend.  The collection continues into mid-December.

Megan Allen of Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery is the Community Christmas Campaign Chairperson, and says they’re looking for donations of non-perishable food items, personal care items, and gifts for kids of all ages:

In addition to donating, another way to help is to attend the annual Cookies and Cocoa Event at Freer Auto Body in Godfrey coming up on Tuesday December 1.  You can drop off a new toy, coat, or make a donation to Community Christmas from 5-7pm and enjoy a snack courtesy of the Freer family.
