Mumps cases are springing up on the campus of the University of Illinois in Champaign. School leaders say nine students have been diagnosed with the ailment. The cases are part of an outbreak that has already produced more cases this year than the state saw in all of 2013.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says 65 other cases have been confirmed statewide, mostly in Morgan and Sangamon counties.
