The Illinois Department of Public Health is now reporting two deaths from West Nile Virus in central Illinois.  These are the state's first reported deaths from the virus this year.  The first was a 75-year-old Decatur man and the second victim was from Logan County.

So far, nine human cases have been reported, including the latest down in southern Illinois.  People are advised to get rid of any standing water in their yards that might attract mosquitoes and should use insect repellent or wear protective clothing.
