Two Riverbend communities will commemorate Memorial Day today with parades.  The Alton Memorial Day Parade is the nation's oldest at 149 years, while Bethalto will hold it's 57th annual parade later this morning.

The Alton parade steps off at 10am in Upper Alton and follows the traditional route from the Alton Middle School and ending at the Oakwood Cemetery.  Alton Township Supervisor Don Huber tells The Big Z this year's Grand Marshal is Godfrey resident and World War II veteran Art Williams.
