Two new dining options opened in Alton on Thursday. Shogun Japanese Steakhouse cut the ribbon along the Homer Adams Parkway, and Hops House debuted at the Argosy Casino in downtown Alton. Shogun is the first of its kind for the Alton area.
A ribbon cutting and dancing dragon, helped kick off the business at the former location of Golden Corral. Shogun features hibachi-style dining, where the food is prepared in front of you, along with sushi and other Japanese cuisine. Hops House at Argosy Casino features 77 beers, including domestic favorites and craft style, and pub food. Local beers from Old Bakery Beer Company and 4204 Main Street are included along with several from St. Louis. Argosy is marking its 25th anniversary this year in Alton.
