A joint investigation by the St. Louis Metropolitan Major Case Squad and the Madison Police Department has resulted in murder charges against two men.
49-year old Gregory Crowder of East St. Louis (pictured top) and 24-year old Derrick L. Coleman of Madison (pictured bottom) have both been charged with four counts of first degree murder and aggravated possession of a weapon by a felon.Police in the City of Madison activated the Major Case Squad after they responded to a fatal shooting at a residence in the 2020 block of 5th Street in Madison. Killed in the shooting was 23-year old Tavon O. Bey. More than 20 investigators assisted in the investigation and Major Case Squad Deputy Director Brad Wells says it gave them a clear picture of what happened.

Both men were taken into custody on November 4th and are currently being held without bond.
