Two people were hospitalized following a collision on Illinois Route 140 in Meadowbrook yesterday. A tractor trailer was west bound on 140 when it crossed the path of a car, spinning the car out, and crushing it's passenger side. Both the car and the tractor trailer then crashed through a guard rail. Both drivers were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The driver of the car was removed from the crushed vehicle by emergency workers and was originally going to be airlifted to the hospital, but the helicopter was unable to land due to weather conditions. Route 140 was closed down for several hours while workers removed the wreckage.
