Two people are being held on meth production charges after East Alton Police allegedly caught them setting up a portable methamphetamine lab near Wood River Creek. 39-year-old Janet L. Brannon and 34-year-old Christopher M. Pierce, both of the same address in the 300 block of Niagara Street in East Alton, are being held on $1-million bond.
East Alton Police Chief Dwynn Isringhausen says the two have been busted before on similar charges.

They are both charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and aggravated battery. The battery charge is a result of allegedly throwing bottles of hazardous chemicals at the pursuing officers. The officers suffered minor burns, but were treated and released from a local hospital.
