Two men reportedly targeted unlocked vehicles late Tuesday and early Wednesday morning in East Alton, but were caught by police yesterday and confessed to the alleged crimes.  21 year old Gregory Gaither of the 1300 block of Fourth Street and 19 year old Chance Keown of the 200 block of Whitelaw Avenue have been charged with two counts of felony burglary.

Additional charges are possible as police continue to speak to victims of the crime, most living in the 600 block of Bowman Street.  Wood River Police are also investigating more than a dozen vehicle break-ins in the Eastwood Subdivision, where authorities say in each case the victims car was not locked.  Gaither and Keown were apparently caught in the act Wednesday morning around 6:30, when someone called police.  The men fled when police arrived but were taken into custody a short time later.
