Alton Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened overnight on the parking lot of a local health club.  The unidentified victim was uninjured as he was approached on the lot of Nautilus Fitness Center around 3am.  Police are looking for a black male suspect, and are pursuing several leads.

Lieutenant Scott Golike says the Nautilus lot is fairly-well lit, and this is the first time he can remember such an incident there, although there had been some car break-ins in the past.  Nautilus is open around the clock to accomodate shift-workers and others who prefer to exercise during what is considered off-hours.  The lot was fairly deserted at the time, according to Golike.

Also, Wood River Police are investigating an apparent armed robbery this morning at the Laclede Community Credit Union.  The facility in the 200 block of Madison Avenue was robbed at about 10:30, when the masked suspect entered the building and displayed a handgun.  After getting the money, police say he fled on foot down an alley behind the building.

He is described as a male dressed in a mask, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and dark pants.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Wood River Police Department at 251-3113.
