A proposed bill that calls for more video gaming machines at truck stops is advancing through the Illinois Legislature. A Senate committee passed the measure on Tuesday by a vote of nine to two. The legislation would allow truck stops to have ten video gaming terminals.
Currently, businesses can operate with five machines. State Senator Dave Syverson, the sponsor of the bill, says the proposal will generate more money from truckers who are many times from out of state.
