The Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign is winding down, and the Alton chapter is hoping for a strong finish. The Tree of Lights Campaign encompasses many of the other campaigns that are promoted at this time of year, including the Red Kettle Campaign, the mail campaign, and other donations. Right now, the agency is about $36,000 short of its overall goal of $262,000.
Army Lieutenant Teri Ellison says the last day of the campaign is January 31.

She says they set their budget based on this campaign, so it’s a crucial time due to the fact that they can get a handle on what kind of programs they will be able to offer, and if more fundraising is needed.
