The Madison County Treasurer is putting out the annual reminder that your tax bills are in the mail.  Kurt Prenzler says his office is mailing out more 135-thousand bills this week with the first tax bill due July 7.  He says overall, taxes are up for county residents.  

Prenzler says on average, taxes in the county are up 6.2%, with school districts and colleges collecting the most on your bill.  Prenzler says taxpayers have four dates to remember:

The largest increases in the county were for those living in the Triad and Granite City School Districts.   The Lewis and Clark Community College District tax increase is 10.7%.  If you have a question about your tax bill, you can call 692-6260, or go to
