FrerichsIllinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs stopped in Alton Thursday to discuss a bill he’d like the governor to sign.  Frerichs stopped at Senior Services Plus to shine the light on House Bill 4633, the Unclaimed Life Insurance Benefits Act, that would require insurance companies to pay out death benefits after checking the federal Death Master File.

In an appearance on the Big Z’s Let’s Talk, Frerichs says it was an area that needed to be addressed so people could get what legally belonged to them:

The bill was supported unanimously by the Illinois House and Senate and is now awaiting the governor’s signature.
