The Madison County Health Department is gearing up for its next volunteer orientation training session as part of National Preparedness Month 2013.  The agency's Emergency Response Coordinator says in a large scale disaster, additional trained volunteers will be called upon to perform a variety of duties, and not all jobs will call for a medical background.

Corps Volunteer Coordinator Kathy Paone says different skill sets will be called upon.

Paone comments

She says everyone from clerical helpers to dentists to journalists could be called upon in a time of need.  The Madison County Medical Reserve Corps will be holding a free volunteer orientation training session on Monday, September 23 at the Health Department from 5:30-7:30pm.  Registration is required by Monday, September 16.  You can do so by calling 296-6096.
