Motorists are reminded about brief traffic delays early this afternoon for the funeral procession of Officer Blake Snyder.  The motorcade will make its way across the Clark Bridge in Alton to the Great River Road and Clifton Terrace Road in Godfrey, then to West Delmar and finally at Valhalla Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrival in the Riverbend will be anywhere from Noon to 2pm, and the public is welcome to line the route.  Parking for pedestrians can be anywhere you can legally park on the street or in lots.  If you are in your car when the motorcade passes, Alton Police Chief Jason Simmons has this advice:

Alton Police and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department will provide assistance in temporarily closing intersections as the vehicles move through the area.  The area near the cemetery will be closed to thru traffic as the procession moves into the cemetery.   Keep it tuned to the Big Z (94.3FM and 1570AM) and through our social media pages for updates on the timing of the motorcade as it moves into the Riverbend.
