Local police and the Illinois Department of Transportation are making a final push to keep motorists safe on Illinois roadways through the holidays.  There have been several roadside safety checks in recent weeks in Alton.  Locally, several agencies will be extending these holiday patrols well into the New Year.

IDOT spokesman Guy Tridgell says "Click It or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get pulled Over" campaigns are in full gear.
