The Illinois Department of Transportation is warning motorists of ongoing traffic delays on the Clark Bridge at Alton as summer repairs continue. IDOT continues with pavement patching which has lead to lane closures and long delays especially during the evening rush hour back into Alton.
IDOT Engineer John Scheibal says extended lane closures northbound on Route 67 should come to and end today (Thursday) or tomorrow.

Work is scheduled through the middle of August. The original end date later this month has been pushed back because of trouble acquiring some of the materials, according to Scheibal. Motorists are encouraged to make alternate travel plans through the duration of the project.
