Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson recently returned from the Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative annual meeting in Natchez, Mississippi, and brings with him a couple of new tourism opportunities.  Tourism is the industry that pays the bills in Grafton, and Thompson tells The Big Z the city will be a stop on a new attraction being promoted by a well known name in the world of science.

He tells The Big Z the National Geographic Society has developed a "Mississippi River Trail."

Thompson says the agreement has been finalized and Grafton will be added to that program.  He adds the Viking cruise ship line is building a number of ships to cruise the length of the Mississippi River.  Thompson says the marketing head of that company will be visiting Grafton to talk about making the town a stop on their schedule.
