If you are looking for a "staycation" this afternoon, there are a couple of events that are a as close as a drive up the Great River Road. The 4th annual Calhoun County Quilt and Church Tour began yesterday and wraps up today, while the Grafton Rendezvous starts today and ends tomorrow.
The Quilt and Church Tour features quilt displays, quilt appraisals & raffle, quilt supplies & sales, unique crafts, quilting demonstrations, antique cars & tractors, driving tour of hand painted quilt blocks. Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau President Brett Stawar:
He says there are quilts on display in Brusslels, Hardin, Kampsville and Belleview. In Grafton, the Rendezvous features pre-1840 history coming to life with period dress and demonstrations of archery, tomahawk and knife throwing and traders selling items of the period.
