The National Weather Service is confirming a small tornado touched down in Lincoln County, Missouri over the weekend. The agency says the twister moving at 110 miles per hour passed through Hawk Point Saturday evening near Prairie Road. At 110 miles per hour, the tornado was rated at an EF-1 on the Enhanced Fugita Scale.
The Lincoln County Fire Department reports several homes were damaged, but no one was hurt. The tornado also caused downed power lines and trees. It traveled nearly 2 miles, and is estimated to be about 50 yards wide at its strongest point. It was on the ground for about five minutes, beginning at about 6:45pm.
