A happy ending for a Springfield food pantry -- the community responded in the face of theft and vandalism.
Thieves made off with about 10,000 rolls of toilet paper from St. Martin De Porres -- co-administrator Mark Tolan says people request that and meat more than anything else. They were keeping the stock in a locked trailer.

“They used bolt cutters to cut the padlock, they got in there and took all the toilet paper,” Tolan says. “I was just sick.”
But HyVee found out about it -- the store's donating 11-thousand rolls to make up for what was lost. It's unclear how the thieves got into the secured lot -- although pieces of plastic from the packaging was found stuck to the surrounding barbed wire. Springfield Police are investigating.
