Today is the Autumn Open House at The Nature Institute, and the focus will be on the organization's ties with industrialist and entrepreneur John M. Olin. There will be live music, a talk on the history of Olin given by the host of the Outdoors Show on WBGZ, and food and drink.
Olin was an industrialist and entrepreneur that donated the land at the nature preserve, according to TNI Educator Patti Brown.
Z-1570's Larry Reid will present a biography of Olin at 5:30, between performances of The Waters Trifecta. Guided hikes, food and refreshments will also be provided. The event takes place at the Talahi Lodge from 4-8pm.
