Officials are tightening security at the Madison County Courthouse. From now on people are not allowed to bring any electronic devices into the building. Foods, liquids, and lighters are also being banned. The move is in part to bring security to a federal level, but also avoid potential problems similar to what happened recently between a soon to be divorced couple.

Madison County Sheriff Bob Hertz says in that case, both the husband and wife handed their cell phones over for security officers to hold. The officers wrote only the last names on the phones, but when the couple left, the wife was accidentally given the husband's cell phone. The husband blamed security for the breach of privacy. So to avoid that type of mistake in the future, officials say they will no longer be responsible for people's electronic devices when they enter the courthouse.
