Two men from Alton and one from Godfrey are jailed on multiple felonies after an alleged crime spree last week that involved the breaking of vehicle windows, shooting two people with a BB gun, and a burglary at the Godfrey Wal Mart. 18-year-olds Kenneth W. Stewart of the 1800 block of Jersey Street and Corrionte A. Cotton of the 900 block of E. 6th Street in Alton, and 24-year-old William C. Cavins of the 1300 block of Normandy Drive in Godfrey, are now facing numerous charges through the Madison County Courts. Alton Police Public Information Officer Emily Hejna says the three were caught when an off-duty Alton police officer saw the three at Shop – N – Save and noticed a vehicle with the window broken out of it.
