This year is shaping up to be one of the coldest on record in Illinois.  State Climatologist Jim Angel says this past January through October in Illinois has been the 6th coolest on record, with an average temperature of 52.5 degrees.

Statewide precipitation averaged nearly 37.5 inches for the first 10 months of 2014, making it the 19th wettest for that time period.
