Thanksgiving is about a week away, and soon the Christmas season will be in full swing. The evening of November 23 marks the opening of the Christmas Wonderland display at Rock Spring Park in Alton. The light display at the park has been going strong for more than two decades, and there are more new LED lights that are brighter and more "green."
The "Grandpa Gang" hung about two and a half million lights for this years display, and the attractions have been freshened up too, according to Grandpa Gang leader Bob Osburn.
The cost to see the display is $7 for cars and small vans, and $1 per person for vehicles with 10 or more passengers. The Christmas Wonderland display hours are 6-9 p.m. on weekdays, and 5-9 p.m. on the weekends. The annual walk-though night is scheduled for Monday, November 26, and will cost $1 per person.
