“It’s fair to say that a lot of our members, teachers and educators, haven’t been happy with everything the president’s done, especially as it concerns some education policy issues, and that’s legitimate, but this is not a referendum on those issues, this is an election, a choice between two very different visions of how were going to lead the country,” Montgomery said. Montgomery says Obama’s vision for America is one that’s best for the AFT members, the children they teach and the country as a whole. The IFT and AFT endorsed Obama in his first presidential bid in 2008.
