The annual Taste of Downtown returns to Alton this Thursday from 5pm-8pm. For only $10 visitors will be able to sample food from nearly 20 local restaurants, and sample wine and beer products as well. This year's event will be special because it also falls on a Third Thursday, which means that a trolley will be looping around downtown offering free rides and that shops will be open later and even offering special deals.
Alton Marketplace Executive Director Sara McGibany says that this might be a great time to get some early holiday shopping done.
The Taste of Downtown will be held inside the Temple Banquet Facility located at 300 State Street. Appetizers will be showcased on the third floor while wine and beer tasting will take place inside the Spirits Lounge on the second floor. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Alton Visitors Bureau office on Broadway or at Bossanova on West Third Street
