Crediting in part the efforts of Lewis & Clark’s Restoration Ecology degree program, Lewis and Clark Community College's Sustainability Director is celebrating a new recognition on a national scale. The college has been selected as the American Association of Community College’s Sustainability Education & Economic Development Green Genome Overall Award winner.

With the award, Lewis and Clark will receive a $10,000 cash prize. The prize money from the award will help purchase green roof materials for a visible roof area between two buildings on the Godfrey campus and native plants for the installation of an additional bioswale near a campus parking lot.
