Authorities in St. Louis County have arrested and charged one suspect in connection with the shooting of two police officers outside the Ferguson Police Department last Thursday. 20 year old Jeffrey Williams was charged Sunday with assault, armed criminal action and firing a weapon from a vehicle.
St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch said they are still investigating the possibility that the suspect was targeting someone other than the police. He added that there might have been a dispute between Williams and another person prior to the shooting, but authorities are still looking at all the evidence. McCulloch thanked the public for coming forward with information leading to the arrest of Williams, who is being held on 300-thousand-dollars bond. The two police officers are recovering from their injuries.
