A St. Louis man is facing multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged altercation with an Alton Police officer and high speed chase on Thursday night. Alton Police Public Information Officer Emily Hejna says a suspected drunk driver was pulled over in a truck that had been reported stolen out of Edwarsdville around 11 p.m. Thursday in Alton.

Henja says 49-year old David W. Crites of the 3000 block of Chouteau in St. Louis was taken into custody by St. Louis County Police Friday evening. He has been charged with offenses related to motor vehicles and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and is being held on an $80,000 bond.
