You are invited to the Confluence Tower in Hartford today to celebrate the Summer Solstice in a unique way. Members of local astronomical organizations will be on hand, and you can look through one of their special solar telescopes to look directly at the sun.
Local astronomer Eddie Agha tells The Big Z there will be a variety of telescopes on hand, as well as other attractions and informational displays.

Admission to the event is free, although there is a charge to tour the tower. But since it is Father’s Day, you will receive a free tour of the tower if you are a father. Today’s event runs from noon to 5pm.
