The Community Center in downtown Alton will hold a series of open admission nights this summer.  It's called Summer Nights and from 6-10pm every Thursday and Friday, the center will be open to the public who can take part in the games, movies and social time the center offers.  Admission will be just $5 per person.

Community Center owner John Hentrich says it's the first time they've done this on a regular basis:

Hentrich says food and drink will be available for purchase at the Internet cafe on the second floor.   He says due to the holiday, they will be closed on Thursday July 4.  The popular middle school dances have also been cut back to just one a month during the summer, on the first Saturday, and the Community Center is holding fundraisers during the downtown Alton Block Parties, starting with tomorrow night's event.  For more information, check out
