The Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton pooled its resources to provide more than 14-thousand lunches to 300 kids throughout the past summer.  Summer Twigs was an effort lead by the church to help feed kids through the Alton Boys and Girls Club, the Alton Housing Authority and kids throughout Upper Alton, and organizers are planning to expand the effort next year.

Summer Twigs coordinator Alan Abert says after seeing the need right here in the Alton area, they would like to branch out next summer:
