The Alton/Godfrey Rotary Club recognized their students of the month for November earlier this month. Shaun Hogan of Alton High School and Jack Miller of Marquette Catholic High School were each presented with a plaque and honored at the club's meeting on November 12th.
Shaun Hogan is the son of Francis and Mary Hogan of Alton. He serves as the Treasurer for Alton High's chapter of the National Honor Society. Shaun also ranks fourth in his class academically, is the captain of the school's varsity Scholarbowl Team and participates in a wide variety of clubs and organizations. He plans to attend Princeton University and pursue a degree in Engineering after graduation.
Jack Miller is the son of Patrick and Meg Miller of Alton. He serves as the Sergeant of Arms for Marquette's chapter of the National Honor Society. Jack has regularly appeared on the high honor roll, been a four year member of the Marquette basketball, baseball and football teams, while also participating in several other extra curricular activities. After graduating, Miller plans to attend either Notre Dame or the University of Missouri majoring in Pre-Med.
Students selected for this honor are also eligible to compete for a $5,000 scholarship which will be presented to one of the students of the month during the school year.
Serving the areas of Alton, Godfrey, East Alton, Wood River, Roxana, Edwardsville, Jerseyville, Brighton, Bethalto, Grafton, Granite City, Hartford, Highland, Troy, Fairview Heights, Belleville and the surrounding cities.
