The Alton/Godfrey Rotary Club has selected their Students of the Month for November. Lucas Edwards of Alton High School and David Dick of Marquette Catholic High School have been awarded the honor for this month. Individuals selected must be a senior and are nominated on the basis of outstanding scholarship, participation in school activities, and/or community service activities.

Lucas Edwards is the son of Mark and Elaine Edwards of Godfrey. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Young Achievers Group. He has been selected as the Scholar Athlete for the Redbird baseball team, which he has been a member of since he enrolled at Alton High. In addition to his involvement in athletics and several school clubs, Lucas has been very active in the community by working on several different community service projects. He hopes to pursue a career in Biomedical Engineering but hast not chosen a college yet.

David Dick is the son of Ed and Lauri Dick of Florissant, Missouri. He is currently serving as the president of the Student Council and has been a regular on Marquette's honor role. He is a member of the National Honor Society and prides himself on earning the designation of Eagle Scout from the Boys Scouts of America. David has also been extremely active outside of school, and was honored for three successive years for over 100 hours of community service work each year. He plans to study business or engineering after high school, but has not selected a college at this time.
