Teens that send nude pictures of themselves to their romantic interests through texting or an internet-based service are committing a felony. That was one of the messages shared with 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Bethalto's Trimpe Middle School during a presentation Thursday by the Madison County State's Attorney's Office.
Madison County State's Attorney Tom Gibbons tells The Big Z "sexting" is a danger they hope to educate teens about before some suffer the consequences.

Gibbons believes most kids understand the seriousness of "sexting" after it is explained to them, but concedes there are some that either can't or won't get it. Gibbons says there have been cases of "sexting" that his office has prosecuted as child pornography.
