There’s no school again today in the East St. Louis School District due to a teacher’s strike. This is the third school day lost to the strike with wages the top concern of the union which represents about 400 employees. Both sides are scheduled to meet today with a federal mediator.
East St. Louis High School had to cancel its homecoming football game and dance over the weekend. Close to six thousand students are impacted by the walkout, however the district does plan to offer transportation and meals for students at district schools today.
