A new facility to be built on the Madison County Wood River Facility property is an investment that will help residents of the northwestern part of the county, according to one official. Madison County Administrator Joe Parente says the building will house a variety of equipment that could be called into service at a moment’s notice, should disaster strike.

The 75 x 144 foot building will be built at a cost of $620,000. Parente expects construction to be completed by late fall.
