A stolen Granite City Police car has been found.  Authorities say the unmarked vehicle was recovered yesterday at an apartment complex in the Village of Norwood Court in St. Louis County.  It was stolen during a traffic stop on Monday evening in Granite City.

The car was taken after an officer pulled up behind a minivan which was not moving in traffic.  The officer went to check on the driver and found a person slumped at the wheel.  Another person got into the officer's vehicle and drove toward him knocking him down.  Both vehicles then fled the scene.  The officer suffered only minor injuries.  A weapon and some police equipment remain missing.
