Secretary of State Jesse White is encouraging Illinoisans to become organ donors this month. April is National Donate Life Month, and the theme of this year’s push to sign up more donors is “Be a Hero.” White says being or needing a donor is not a situation most people want to think about. “And so we ask everyone that when you’re alive and well, give blood. (When) you’re no longer here, give organs,” White said. “When you’ve done those two things, you’ll have made a positive impact on society.”
