The Illinois Department on Aging is reminding caregivers that state resources are available to help with several concerns. Agency spokesman Kimberly Parker says they can assist caregivers with several issues including transportation, housing needs, meals and legal assistance.
She says accessing these resources can help ease the burden.

Parker says now is also a good time to check on seniors and assess their needs. Signs warranting concern include decreased mobility, forgetfulness, neglecting personal hygiene, and unopened medical prescriptions.
