The “Stan Span” is finally opening, and area residents are invited to celebrate. Thousands of runners and cyclists are expected to hit the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge this morning, the first in a series of events surrounding the bridge’s official debut. A free public walk on the bridge is today from Noon-4pm.
A ribbon cutting will be held at 2pm and a ceremonial first crossing will take place at 3pm. For complete details on where to park if you go, and other information, go to the link below. The 350-million dollar bridge opens to Interstate 70 traffic around Noon on Sunday.
