Great Rivers Greenway, The City of St. Louis, and the CityArchRiver Foundation are hosting "Picnic on the Riverfront" to celebrate the transformation of the St. Louis riverfront on Thursday. The Event which starts at 5 pm will feature St. Louis' largest ever community picnic, complete with a 2,016-foot-long picnic table, all in celebration of the opening of the new riverfront beneath the Gateway Arch.
Events at the picnic will inclide local music educational activities for kids, and food trucks and vendors and people are welcome to bring their own picnics. Seth Treptow, the communications manager for Great Rivers Greenway, told the Big Z they have something special planned to end the event.

The riverfront is part of the larger CityArchRiver project to enhance the Gateway Arch experience for all visitors.
