A group of high school students from civic memorial high school have started a community garden at St. Louis Regional Airport. The group approached Bethalto Mayor Alan Winslow about finding land to use for the garden. The Mayor then contacted David Miller, the Director of Aviation at St. Louis Regional Airport to use some of the airports acreage as a community garden. The proceeds of lot rental and the produce from the garden will all be donated to the local food bank.

Miller told the Big Z that the students came up with the plan all on their own
