Scammers may be lurking as spring breakers head to their chosen locations. Bill Smith with the Better Business Bureau says be sure to buy your travel packages from a reputable vendor. And, tickets should be purchased with a credit card, just in case something goes wrong.
Smith tells The Big Z parents and other relatives can also fall victim to crooks even if they aren’t going anywhere. It’s called the “grandparent scam.”

Smith says you should also be wary of anyone claiming you have won a trip, and just need to send money for processing or some other fee. If you have truly won a prize, he says there will be no fees needed to claim it.
