The Village of Bethalto is one step closer to having the money to expand its sports complex, with word from Springfield that village representatives will be invited to pitch the plan later this month.  The $400,000 requested would be in the form of an OSLAD Grant, which is available for projects ranging from small neighborhood parks to large community and county parks and nature areas.

This project would increase the available fields in the village, something Mayor Steve Bryant says is sorely needed.

Bryant comments

Phase 2 of the sports complex includes the addition of six multi-purpose ball diamonds, a soccer field, football field, spectator bleachers, rest rooms, concession stand, infrastructure, parking areas and green space.
